Fort Knox’s Yano Range To Soon Begin Booming Again

FORT KNOX, Ky. — After five years of development, Fort Knox’s Digital Air Grounds Integration Range, or DAGIR, is nearing completion.

What that means for area residents is a return to training on Yano Range in the northwest corner of Hardin County, and the booms that come with it, Fort Knox Garrison Commander Col. Christopher Ricci said in a recent address to Hardin Fiscal Court.

DAGIR Fully Operational Following Government Acceptance Test

FORT KNOX, Ky. — After a long and challenging construction period that began in 2021, the Digital Air-Ground Integration Range at Fort Knox is officially up and running following a thorough government acceptance test.

The range, expected to test and train units on coordinated combat, completed testing on its ability to withstand a full end-to-end scenario iteration on May 17.

Former DAGIR project manager now enjoys the fruits of his labor as National Guard Soldier

FORT KNOX, Ky. — When Capt. Drake Sullivan began working toward a career as an Army officer, he faced a major decision – history or mechanical engineering.

He chose engineering.  After almost 10 years of active-duty service, Sullivan made the decision to take a position with the Army Corps of Engineers while continuing to serve in the Kentucky National Guard. Sullivan said he ultimately made the decision for his family, and it has been a fulfilling change of pace.
